Fall Friends’ Membership Thank You Light Lunch

After a bit of a hiatus, we’re back with *live* and *in-person* events! We have just the thing for you on September 13, at 1:00p at the Okemos Library. Celebrate the First Nations peoples with Patricia Shackleton, a member of the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of the Chippewa (Ojibwe) will be our speaker at this light lunch.
Patricia will guide us on a tour of the Native Peoples’ history and how the effects of that history resonate in today’s world. She will also touch on the modern version of traditional birch bark cutwork and talk about the craft of Native American storytelling.
Members of the Friends can attend this event at no additional cost (other than your current membership) and enjoy our light refreshments. For nonmembers, there is a $10 fee. *Space is limited!* Please make your reservations early! Checks can be made out to Friends of the Okemos Library and mailed to Friends of the Okemos Library, 4321 Okemos Road, Okemos, MI 48864, or they may be dropped off at the library.
